DENTAL TREATMENT
Cosmetic Dentistry
Cosmetic dentistry focuses on improving the appearance of a person's teeth, mouth and smile. In other words restorative, general and/or family dental practices address dental problems that require necessary treatment, whereas cosmetic dentistry provides elective – or desired – treatments or services.
Cosmetic dentistry may also provide restorative benefits. For example, dental fillings are a common procedure used to treat decayed teeth. Previously, most dental fillings were composed primarily of gold, amalgam and other materials that left visible dark spots on the teeth.

Smile Makeover
A smile makeover is the process of improving the appearance of the smile through one or more cosmetic dentistry procedures, such as dental veneers, composite bonding, tooth implants and teeth whitening.
Your smile. It is the one feature that immediately tells the world how you’re doing. With age, your smile can lose its vibrancy due to discoloration, tooth loss, excessive grinding or cavities and decay. Yet no matter what your tooth trouble may be, there’s likely a solution, including everything from a one-day bonding fix to year-long straightening devices and to give you the smile you've always dreamed of.
Having the perfect smile is about getting every aspect of your dental care right. We can help you reach your goal by combining individual treatments from our range to give you a full smile makeover.

General Dentistry
Dentistry involves the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of conditions, disorders and diseases affecting the teeth, gums and maxillofacial (associated with the jaw and face) region of the body. General dentists provide services related to the general maintenance of oral hygiene and tooth health.
Although proper brushing and flossing is the primary defense against most tooth decay and gum diseases, regular prophylaxis (or professional cleaning of the teeth) is an essential part of a life long oral health in order to avoid the traditional pattern of fillings and extractions.

Veneers
Veneers are ultra-thin shells of ceramic (porcelain) or a composite resin material, which are bonded to the front of teeth. This procedure requires little or no anesthesia and can be the ideal choice for improving the appearance of the front teeth.
Veneers are placed to mask discolorations, to brighten teeth and to improve a smile

Teeth Whitening
Most teeth can be whitened (some call it bleaching) and there are a number of ways to whiten teeth. External tooth whitening happens when vital teeth are bleached by direct contact with a safe and commonly used whitening agent.
Whitening agents actually change the color of your teeth, but are only effective on certain types of stains such as brownish or greyish stains.
These products also are not as effective on pitted or badly discolored teeth, or on restorations such as crowns, bridges, bonding and tooth-colored fillings (porcelain veneers or dental bonding may be more appropriate in this case).
Teeth Whitening is one of our most popular treatments, and with good reason. It is a fast and affordable way of enhancing your smile, making your teeth lighter and brighter, and often making you look years younger too.
At Klinik Pergigian Noorazlina we promote Lumi Brite Whitening System.

Tooth Color Fillings
Dentists no longer need to rely on unsightly metals to replace tooth structure lost to decay, but use high density, state-of-the-art plastic (composite resins) and porcelain materials instead. These materials more naturally mimic the look, feel, and function of natural teeth and actually bond directly to the remaining enamel and dentin.
This means that new fillings preserve more of the natural tooth so less repair work is necessary immediately and in the future. These modern filling materials are also more natural in appearance; it’s almost impossible to tell that your tooth has a filling.

Dental Crowns
Whether a crown is needed for tooth cracks, excessive tooth decay, damaged tooth protection, teeth grinding, missing teeth, need for beautification or an improper bite resulting from the natural wear and tear produced by aging, dental crowns of today can satisfy your functional and esthetic needs.
The purpose of a dental crown is to encompass and protect a needy tooth with a custom-designed tooth material, much like a fitted cap. A crown is also an artificial restoration that fits over the remaining part of a prepared tooth, making it strong and giving it the shape of a natural tooth. A crown is sometimes known as a ‘cap'.

Dental Bridges
Dental bridges used to replace missing teeth that would otherwise adversely affect your mouth. The negative effects of one or more missing teeth can include the shifting of other teeth to accommodate for the open space, a change in the bite that may affect your ability to eat, a speech impediment, and an increased risk for periodontal disease and tooth decay.
A dental bridge is made up of two or more crowns for the teeth on either side of the gap. These two or more anchoring teeth are called abutment teeth and a false tooth/teeth in between. These false teeth are called pontics and can be made from gold, alloys, porcelain, or a combination of these materials. Dental bridges are supported by natural teeth or implants.

Dentures
Dentures are removable false teeth made of acrylic (plastic) or metal. They fit snugly over the gums to replace missing teeth and eliminate potential problems caused by gaps. Complete dentures are used to replace missing teeth for people with no remaining teeth. Dentures may also be used for people who have lost several teeth. It is very important to replace missing teeth. The ill effects of not doing so can be a shift in remaining teeth, an inability to bite and chew properly, as well as a sagging facial appearance, which makes one appear older than they are.
Root Canal Treatment
Root canal treatment is a process where the nerve and associated blood-vessels and lymphatics are removed from the tooth and replaced with an inert rubber material called gutta percha. Root canal is a treatment to repair and save a badly damaged or infected tooth instead of removing it. The term "root canal" comes from cleaning of the canals inside a tooth's root. Decades ago, root canal treatments often were painful. With dental advances and local anesthetics, most people have little if any pain with a root canal. In fact, it's probably more painful living with a decayed tooth. Root canal alternatives include extracting the damaged tooth and replacing it with a dental implant, bridge or removable partial denture.
Dental Extractions
Having a tooth removed can be an upsetting and anxious time and we will always try to save your tooth. If a removal is needed, we will do everything possible to make it as comfortable and simple for you as possible. If you are feeling particularly nervous, you may also choose to have your treatment performed under sedation or to use one of the other options available to our nervous patients. We will always make sure that the area is completely numb before removing any tooth, and if need be we have a great team of specialist for more complicated cases including wisdom teeth removal.
Oral Surgery / Minor Oral Surgery
The need for surgical intervention often arises in order to eliminate a threat to your dental health or as a corrective procedure. Wisdom teeth are usually impacted (buried) in the jaw bone due to insufficient space for its eruption. A normal extraction cannot be done to remove it; therefore a minor oral surgery (MOS) is needed. The procedure is done under local anesthetic by an oral surgeon. Patient will be given medication pre and post treatment to minimize the discomforting conditions. In most cases, wisdom tooth cause the gum around them to inflame and swollen. Wisdom teeth can also trap food debris between causing decays at the tooth in front of it, hence need to be removed.
Wisdom Tooth Removal
To remove the wisdom tooth, your dentist will open up the gum tissue over the tooth and take out any bone that is covering the tooth. He or she will separate the tissue connecting the tooth to the bone and then remove the tooth. Sometimes the dentist will cut the tooth into smaller pieces to make it easier to remove.
After the tooth is removed, you may need stitches. Some stitches dissolve over time and some have to be removed after a few days. Your dentist will tell you whether your stitches need to be removed. A folded cotton gauze pad placed over the wound will help stop the bleeding.

Dental Scaling
The procedure is necessary to remove the plaque and tartar (grey, yellow, brown hard deposits on the teeth near the gums) which are one of the major reasons that cause gum disease. A few minutes after brushing, a very thin layer made up of saliva, proteins, and bacteria (also called the pellicle) is formed on the tooth surface which acts as a base for bacterial attachment and growth. Within a few hours the accumulation of various species of bacteria along with sugar from the food we eat results in formation of a pale yellow or white sticky substance known as dental plaque. This if left on the teeth can attract minerals from the saliva and harden causing tartar. Scaling helps to remove all these and reverses gum disease or prevents the progression to periodontal disease.
X-Ray
A full series of x-rays is the first step in a thorough dental examination because it gives us a full view of your mouth. A full series is important because the x-rays give us vital information that we cannot get from any other source. We use a full series of x-rays to find a variety of oral conditions throughout your mouth, including:
- Cavities between the teeth.
- Tartar on the tooth roots.
- Worn-out or broken fillings or crowns.
- Receding bone levels resulting from periodontal disease.
- Abscesses.

Orthodontics
Orthodontics is more commonly referred to as “braces,” but this simple term can be misleading, as the science of orthodontics is actually quite precise. Orthodontists are experts not only in the current position of teeth, but also in what has caused them to arrive at their current positions and what future movement is possible.
Your cosmetic dentist now has many options available, from conventional braces to “invisible braces” (clear orthodontic aligners) and reduced treatment times. Ask your cosmetic dentist about the possibilities. Each option offers its own benefits and issues and should be carefully selected to suit the situation.

Dental Implants
Dental Implants are devices that replace the roots of lost teeth, and are used to support crowns, bridges or dentures. They are made of two parts, with the 'screw' or 'post', which acts as the root of the tooth, integrating into the bone and holding it in place.
In many cases, dental implants may be the only choice to restore all necessary functions of the teeth and supporting structures. An implant can replace a single missing tooth and multiple implants can be used to support a dental bridge for the replacement of multiple missing teeth. Implants can also be used to increase the retention of dentures, helping to minimize gum irritation. Another implant advantage is that they do not require the preparation of adjacent teeth that would be necessary for bridgework.
